This Week's Quotation:
“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.”
A creative principle is here outlined. The “two of you” is usually interpreted as meaning two people. It does, of course, have application in this regard, but we have noted in times past that it may also refer to just one person, in view of the fact that there are “two of you,” individually speaking. There is a mind present and there is a heart present. Rather seldom are these two aspects of you in agreement. This, of course, is not always realized; however, if there is a state of discomfort, if there is a state of internal turmoil of any kind, there is evidence of the fact that the two of you are not in agreement.Martin Cecil
Harmony Is At Hand
In a world bustling with noise and distractions, finding harmony within ourselves can seem like an elusive dream. But what if I told you that the key to unlocking this inner peace lies within the agreement of our own mind and heart?
Recently, I faced a situation with a colleague that stirred me up inside. My mind judged their seeming lack of care and communication. My heart tried to stay steady in compassion, but in all honesty, it was growing cold toward this person. To say that this was causing discomfort is an understatement.
How could I bridge this gap and bring harmony?
For me, I had to do some deep self-reflection as well as some forgiveness. I had to focus on the bigger picture and the truth about myself and this person so that my mind could release the judgments about them. Once I did this conscious work, my mind and heart came into a place of coherence, and I was able to function creatively again.
Cecil’s insight reminds us that this division within ourselves is the root cause of our discontent. We seek external sources to blame for our discomfort, oblivious to the fact that the turmoil originates from within.
It starts with acknowledging the discord between our mind and heart. Instead of battling against ourselves, we must strive for coherence. It’s about embracing the truth of our circumstances while honoring the desires of our hearts.
Remember, we hold the power to create our own harmony. By aligning our minds and hearts, we unlock the door to a life filled with joy, purpose, and limitless potential. And when we do it together, the possibility of Heaven on Earth becomes a reality.
